I hung out Hiroshi Shibata and his wife Sayaka for a couple days. He works at the Sapporo Murasaki sports store and I've known him from when i first joined Murasaki about 15 years ago. He always been a good friend and hope to visit him in Hokkaido someday soon.

シバタヒロシと奥さんのサヤカと数日一緒に出かけたよ。彼はムラサキスポーツの札幌店で働いていて、僕が最初にムラサキと協業した１５年前頃からの知り合いだ。彼とはずっといい友達関係でいるよ。近いうちに北海道遊びにいきたいね。

The waves were about 3-4 ft and lots of kids all over. it was a holiday and The 33rd annual menehune contest is this weekend so the kids are practicing.

波は３−４ftくらいで、至る所キッズサーファーだらけ。ちょうど祝日だったし、第３３回menehuneコンテストが今週末にあるということもあってみんな練習してたよ。

I went back to surf with Kai and his friend Chase in the evening. The waves got bigger so i took them to a reform inside break. it can be 15 to 20 ft outside and this place will still be fun to surf. We used to surf this place sooo much before.

夕方カイと友達のチェイスを連れてもう１ラウンド入った。波がでかくなってきたから、もう１回張ってくるインサイドブレイク狙いで。アウトは１５−２０ftでもインサイドはまだ楽しめる。昔はよーくここでサーフィンしたもんだ。

My last wave in... Tomorrow morning should be epic !!! We've had a few swells before this one. Good start for the new season !

ボクのラストウェーブ。多分明日は最高のコンディションだと思う。今回の前にも波があったし、ノースシーズンの素晴らしいスタートを切ったね！

Good at Haleiwa today. Solid 6-8ft. I rode my favorite 6'8" and it felt like i was riding a 7'2" of something. Couldn't turn it good at first because i haven't rode a board longer than 6'0" for a long time ! Haleiwa was the best spot today. Lots of pros, Pancho Sullivan, Makua Rothman, Myles Padaca, Sean Moody, Brock Little, Marcus Hickman, Bonga Perkins and more.

今日のハレイワは６−８ftのいい波。お気に入りの6'8"で入ったんだけど7'2"くらいに感じたよ。しばらく6'0"以上の長い板に乗っていなかったせいか、最初はうまくターンできなかった！今日はハレイワがベストポイントだったね。だから、たくさんのプロサーファーが集結していたよ。パンチョサリバン、マクアロスマン、マイルスパダカ、シーンムディー、ブロックリトル、マルクスヒックマン、ボンガパーキンスなどなど。

Its been awhile since the North shore had waves. it came up to about 2-4 on friday and another swell came in yesterday afternoon at about 4-5 ft. from the north, north west.Today the waves were still good at Laniakea. 5 ft sets and the crowd not as bad as the past few days. The pics i'm posting is from today. From Friday to yesterday it was super crowded. About 75 people out on the weekend !! Everyone is hungry !!

ノースショアに波があるのはいつ以来だろうか。金曜日に２−４ftまでサイズアップして、昨日の午後には新たに北〜北西のうねりが入り４−５ftに。今日の時点でもラニアケアはまだできたよ。５ftのセットも入り、ここ数日ほど混んではいなかった。写真は今日撮った写真だけど、金曜から昨日までは大混雑だった。週末ということもあり７５名ほどのサーファーが入っていたよ！！みんな波に飢えていたんだね！




The parking lot was full ! I went when it was still dark on the weekend and the parking lot was like this all day !

駐車場は満車！週末はまだ夜明け前に出発したのに。駐車場は一日中こんな感じだったね！



Kai surfed at Haleiwa in the evening. Small but fun waves in the 2 ft plus range.
